Until retirement in 2015, Kathy was Academic Registrar & Deputy Secretary at Heriot-Watt University (HWU), with a major focus on student support and services.
She previously held posts as Departmental Administrator for Civil & Offshore Engineering at HWU and for Veterinary Pathology at the University of Edinburgh. She completed an MBA at HWU. Her first career was as a Crown Servant at the Ministry of Defence.
Kathy joined the HWU Student Union Trustee Board in 2018 and has recently taken over as Chair of the Board. She previously served as a Trustee for the Samaritans and is currently a Non-Executive Board Member for the Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS). She enjoys long-distance walking, dancing, films and exotic holidays!
